1x01 A WORLD FULL OF STRANGERS
Marti Perkins (Michalka), a law student at Lancer University, discovers that her scholarship has been cancelled and her well-meaning but irresponsible mother, Wanda (Gail O'Grady, "NYPD Blue," "American Dreams") has neglected to inform her. Broke and out of options, Marti realizes the only way she can stay in school is to win a place on the Hellcats – Lancer's legendary cheer squad – and the scholarship that comes with it. Despite a confrontation with the Hellcats peppy team captain, Savannah (Tisdale), Marti wins over coach Vanessa Lodge (Sharon Leal, "Dreamgirls"), makes the squad and is thrust into a competitive world unlike anything she has ever known. With her best friend Dan (Matt Barr, "Harper's Island") by her side, Marti navigates her new world as a cheerleader and Savannah's new roommate, while trying to avoid any interaction with squad member Alice Verdura (Heather Hemmens, "CSI: Miami"), who is instantly jealous when she realizes that Marti has caught the eye of Alice's ex-boyfriend Lewis Flynn (Robbie Jones, "One Tree Hill"). 1x02: I SAY A LITTLE PRAYER

Marti (Aly Michalka) is horrified when she discovers Wanda (Gail O'Grady) in the audience at qualifiers and banishes her from the stadium. After Charlotte (guest star Emma Lahanna), Savannah's (Ashley Tisdale) sister and captain of the Hellcats' rival team from Memphis Christian college, falls and suffers a serious injury, Savannah is torn between going with her sister to the hospital and staying to compete. Savannah tells Marti her parents stopped talking to her when she decided to transfer from Memphis Christian to the secular Lancer University, forcing Marti to re-think her stance on Wanda attending qualifiers. Meanwhile, Lewis (Robbie Jones) blasts Alice (Heather Hemmens) for putting all their scholarships at risk, and Dan (Matt Barr) takes an interest in Savannah. Sharon Leal also stars. 1x03: BEALE ST. AFTER DARK

Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) is nervous about her first date with Dan (Matt Barr) so Marti (Aly Michalka), Lewis (Robbie Jones) and the rest of the Hellcats team accompany her on their date which ends in disaster. Meanwhile, Marti tries to impress her law professor Julian (Harold) in the hopes of joining his legal team but he doubts she can balance both her studies and cheerleading. Desperate to get her spot back, Alice (Heather Hemmens) turns to pills to kill the pain so she can get medically approved to re-join the team. Vanessa (Sharon Leal) decides to come clean with Derrick (DB Woodside) about her affair with Red (Jeff Hephner). Bethany Rooney directed the episode with story by Kevin Murphy and teleplay by Kevin Murphy & Peter Calloway.

1x04: NOBODY LOVES ME BUT MY MOTHER

Lewis (Robbie Jones) asks Marti (Aly Michalka) out but she turns him down. Alice (Heather Hemmens) tells Lewis (Robbie Jones) she will stop taking drugs if he helps her get back in shape as a flier, but then after a sweaty workout the two end up having sex. Meanwhile, Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) takes Dan (Matt Barr) to her parents' house for dinner and a fight erupts after Savannah's mom (guest star Teryl Rothery) demands that she stop seeing Dan. Wanda (Gail O'Grady) convinces Marti to give Lewis a chance so she tells him she's ready to date but he has second thoughts. David Paymer directed the episode written by Anne Kenney.

1x05: THE PRISONER'S SONG

Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) talks the team into letting Dan (Matt Barr) direct their bid video against Alice's (Heather Hemmens) wishes, but when things don't go as planned, Savannah may have to forfeit her role as captain. Meanwhile, Marti (Aly Michalka) decides to investigate further into Julian's (Gale Harold) case, and Red (Jeff Hephner) tells Derrick (D.B. Woodside) he plans to win Vanessa (Sharon Leal) back, which prompts a fight between the two men. Robbie Jones also stars. John Behring directed the episode written by Curtis Kheel .

1x06: RAGGED OLD FLAG

The girls' volleyball team challenges the Hellcats to a flag-football game. Lewis (Robbie Jones) coaches the Hellcats and Red (Jeff Hephner) is impressed by his plays. Marti (Aly Michalka) pretends to be sick so she can skip the game and attend a conference with Julian (Gale Harold). Alice (Heather Hemmens) wants to cheat to win but Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) refuses, putting the girls at odds once again. Sharon Leal and Matt Barr also star. Kevin Fair directed the episode written by James Eagan.

1x07: THE MATCH GAME

Desperate to raise funds to get them to Nationals, the Hellcats plan a date auction. However, things take a unexpected turn after Savannah's (Ashley Tisdale) old boyfriend Noah (guest star) shows up and outbids Dan (Matt Barr), Morgan wins a date with a horrified Marti (Aly Michalka) and Vanessa (Sharon Leal) is bid on by a mystery man whom she suspects is Red (Jeff Hephner) trying to win her back. Vanessa frets over whether to tell Derrick (D.B. Woodside) about the date as the money will cover the trip to Nationals for the Hellcats. Meanwhile, Lewis (Robbie Jones) continues to keep a secret from the team. Heather Hemmens also stars. John Dahl directed the episode written by Jennifer Schuur.

1x08: BACK OF A CAR

For their anniversary party, the Hellcats plan an 80s party to celebrate, complete with costumes and a musical number by Vanessa (Sharon Leal). Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) decides she's ready to spend the night with Dan (Matt Barr) and plans a romantic evening for the two of them, but things don't exactly work out as she envisioned. Meanwhile, Alice (Heather Hemmens) usurps a PR story that was supposed to be on the Lancer football team and makes it about the Hellcats, much to Jake's (guest star Ryan Kennedy) dismay. Marti (Aly Michalka) has conflicted feelings about Savannah taking it to the next level with Dan. Robbie Jones also stars. Allan Arkush directed the episode written by Kevin Murphy & Amanda Alpert Muscat.

1x09: FINISH WHAT WE STARTED

Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) is furious with Marti (Aly Michalka) for keeping a secret about Dan (Matt Barr) from her so she goes home for a couple days to cool off and reconnect with her family. Meanwhile, Marti is conflicted over her feelings for Dan and Lewis (Robbie Jones), and focuses on Travis' (guest star Ben Cotton) case to keep her mind occupied. Vanessa (Sharon Leal) finds out Bill Marsh (guest star Aaron Douglas) took away the Hellcats' gym and turns to Red (Jeff Hephner) for help. Musical guest FeFe Dobson performs. Heather Hemmens also stars. Ron Underwood directed the episode written by Vince Gonzales.

1x10: PLEDGING MY LOVE

A compromising picture of Alice (Heather Hemmens) is sent around school, humiliating her. Lewis (Robbie Jones) feels bad for Alice and agrees to help her find the culprit. The two discover Damian (guest star Josh Emerson), a football player, is the culprit and she vows revenge and plans to out him after she finds out he is gay. Red (Jeff Hephner) and Vanessa (Sharon Leal) hear of her plan and set out to stop her before she does something she will regret. Meanwhile, Julian (Gale Harold) discovers Marti (Aly Michalka) and Morgan (guest star Craig Anderson) are investigating Travis's (guest star Ben Cotton) case behind his back and cuts them lose from the team. Dan (Matt Barr) continues to be conflicted about his feelings for Marti so he makes a harsh decision about Savannah (Ashley Tisdale). Derrick (DB Woodside) decides to ask Vanessa to marry him and enlists the Hellcats to help choreograph a dance number for the proposal. Debbie Allen directed the episode written by Peter Calloway.
